Elizabeth C. Bellino, MD
Elizabeth C. Bellino is a Pediatrician and medical advisor for several global health committees and boards. After spending over 3 years in Kisoro, Uganda working in a pediatric ward, she returned to New Orleans and currently works as a Pediatric Emergency Room Physician.
She serves as a board chair, board member and advisor for a range of entities, including private companies, organizations, foundations and community projects. She has an over 10 year career in public health and in the development and management of community health care response in humanitarian crises and disaster relief.

She has implemented community health programs in humanitarian response projects in Uganda and large-scale natural disasters such as Haiti. She has provided medical guidance on health program design to personnel in post hurricane Dorian in the Abacos, Bahamas.

ABACOS, BAHAMAS
Category 5 hurricane Dorian made landfall on Elbow Cay, Bahamas in September 2019. Dr. Bellino is part of a steering committee working with local community leaders as well as donors and organizers to rebuild the island health clinic and address the community medical needs.

Participated with Tulane University and the Newcomb College Institute Kenya Summer Program assisting in the teaching of Tulane students about Public health and community health in resource limited areas.

Dr. Bellino Continues to lecture and teach medical students around East Africa the need for sustainable health care and the importance of establishing a sustainable model of community clinic for food insecure locations.

Dr. Bellino Implemented guidelines at a community based health center that served populations from Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

HAITI
Participated with the United Nations medical field team at the Port au Prince airport the day after the Haitian Earthquake. Dr. Bellino helped establish the pediatric medical tent and initated a first needs assessment project to determine needed resources for pediatric health services for Project Medishare and the University of Miami
EDUCATION
Dr. Elizabeth Bellino completed her BA/MPH from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

She completed her MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed a residency in Pediatrics from Tulane University School of Medicine.
She then completed a 2 year Piper Fellowship in International Medicine, with a focus on global health with clinical and educational experience in Uganda and Rwanda.
She spent another year in Uganda continuing a project on pediatric nutrition in food insecure areas and pediatric malaria.
